Leonardesque Leonardo Manuscript Milan Models Renaissance Rowing Sickle Technology Vinci 15th

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph showcases a Leonardesque model of mobile ram boats, meticulously crafted by Luigui Tursini in the mid-20th century. The model, now a prized exhibit at Milan's Science and Technology Museum Leonardo da Vinci, is a testament to the enduring influence of the 15th-century Italian polymath, Leonardo da Vinci, on the annals of European engineering and design. Leonardo da Vinci's extensive manuscripts, filled with intricate sketches and designs, have long inspired awe and admiration for his genius. Among his many inventions, the concept of mobile ram boats, or "navi da guerra," has captivated scholars and enthusiasts alike. These war vessels, designed with sharp protrusions to damage enemy boats upon collision, were a revolutionary development in naval warfare during the Renaissance. Tursini's model, a faithful recreation of Leonardo's designs, is a marvel of the modern age. The intricate details of the wooden vessel, from its sleek lines to the sickle-shaped ram, are a testament to the artist's skill and dedication. The model, with its rich historical significance, transports us back to a time when the boundaries between art and science were blurred, and the pursuit of knowledge drove the greatest minds to create wonders that continue to inspire us today. This photograph, taken at the Science and Technology Museum Leonardo da Vinci in Milan, Italy, is a poignant reminder of the enduring legacy of Leonardo da Vinci and the profound impact of his ideas on the world. The mobile ram boat model, a masterpiece in its own right, stands as a tribute to the ingenuity and creativity of the past, and a reminder of the limitless potential of human imagination.
