23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph showcases the historic Laxey Wheel, a 19th-century engineering marvel located on the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea. Known as the 'Lady Isabella' or the 'Great Laxey Water Wheel,' this colossal structure was built between 1854 and 1860 to pump water from the nearby Maughold Hills to the village of Laxey. The wheel stands at an impressive height of 72 feet (22 meters) and boasts a diameter of 25 feet (7.6 meters). It is the largest working water wheel in the world and was designed by Robert Casement and Sons. The wheel consists of 17 wooden buckets, each with a capacity of 200 gallons (909 liters), which are filled with water from the nearby Laxey River as it flows through the wheel's channels. As the water flows into the buckets, it turns the wheel, which in turn raises water to the reservoir located on the hillside. This innovative technology was crucial for the development of the Isle of Man's industrial sector, providing essential water for the growing population and industries in the region. The Laxey Wheel is not only a testament to the ingenuity and engineering prowess of the 19th century but also a significant piece of Isle of Man's rich history. Today, it remains a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the world who are fascinated by its size, historical significance, and the intricate workings of this remarkable water wheel.
