17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This image transports us back in time to the 19th century of Japan, where the traditional arts of geisha culture flourished. Two elegantly dressed geishas, their faces painted with intricate makeup and adorned in beautiful kimonos, gracefully pose under the shade of a parasol. The parasol, a symbol of status and protection from the sun, adds an element of refinement to the scene. Geishas were highly skilled entertainers, trained in various arts such as music, dance, and calligraphy. They were renowned for their ability to create an enchanting atmosphere, providing entertainment for their clients in teahouses, private homes, and at social events. Their unique attire, characterized by elaborate kimonos, obi sashes, and intricate accessories, was a testament to their status and dedication to their craft. This photograph, taken in the late 1800s, offers a rare glimpse into the world of these historical figures. The rich colors and textures of the geishas' kimonos, the delicate folds of their obi sashes, and the intricate patterns of their parasol all contribute to the overall beauty and allure of the scene. The serene expression on the faces of the geishas, their poised posture, and the gentle touch of the parasol against their skin, evoke a sense of tranquility and grace. This photograph is not only a stunning work of art, but also a valuable historical document, offering insights into the lives and traditions of the geishas during the 19th century in Japan. It serves as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that continues to inspire and captivate us today.
