17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph, hailing from the early 1900s, depicts an Irish man named Pat, who has become a legend in the annals of drinking folklore. The scene unfolds in a bustling pub or public house, where Pat, clad in a long raincoat, sits at the bar, a glass of beer and a glass of whiskey before him. A curious tourist, intrigued by Pat's drinking habits, leans in to ask, "Why do you always take beer and whiskey mixed, Pat?" Pat, with a jovial grin, responds, "Shure, yer Anner, if oi dhrink beer oi get full before oi m dhrunk, and if oi dhrink whiskey oi get dhrunk before oi m full, so it shuts me better to mix thim." The tourist, confused by Pat's logic, looks on in amusement. Pat's response, though seemingly illogical, reflects the unique drinking culture of Ireland during this era. His words encapsulate the essence of the fun and madness that often accompanied the consumption of alcohol in public houses. The photograph, taken in 1901, offers a glimpse into the past, where the lines between confusion and humor were often blurred. Pat's story serves as a reminder of the long-standing tradition of mixing beer and whiskey in Ireland and the jovial spirit that accompanies it. This image, with its historical significance and humorous anecdote, is a must-have for any collection that celebrates the rich history of Irish culture and the enduring allure of a good pub tale.
