17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Step back in time to the bustling streets of Hungerford Market in London, circa 1830. This print captures a snapshot of daily life outside the dairy of Thomas Olley, cowkeeper. Street traders and their customers mingle amongst the washing hanging from the windows above, creating a scene that is both chaotic and charming. The historical significance of this image is palpable - it offers a glimpse into a bygone era when markets were at the heart of community life in Britain. The street trade was thriving, with vendors selling their wares while customers bustled about, eager to find bargains and fresh produce. The details in this photograph are truly remarkable - from the architecture of Charing Cross in the background to the intricate patterns on the clothing worn by those present. Every element tells a story, painting a vivid picture of what life was like during this period. As you gaze upon this image, you can almost hear the sounds of chatter and laughter echoing through the market stalls. It serves as a reminder of how far we have come since then, yet also evokes nostalgia for simpler times when everyday moments like these held so much meaning. This print from Mary Evans Picture Library is not just an image; it's a window into history that invites us to step into another world altogether.
