23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "A Prayer for Eternal Peace: The Architrave of the Tomb of Nykaiankh - A Glimpse into Ancient Egyptian Religion and Script" 2. Description: This image showcases a detailed limestone architrave from the ancient Egyptian tomb of Nykaiankh, dating back to the 5th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, around 2450 BC. The tomb, located in Giza, Egypt, is a testament to the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of the Egyptian civilization. The intricately carved architrave is adorned with hieroglyphic inscriptions, an early form of writing that played a crucial role in the religious and administrative life of ancient Egypt. The text on this particular piece is a prayer, offering a glimpse into the beliefs and practices of the time. Nykaiankh, a priest of the Sun Temple dedicated to King Userkaf, is the deceased individual honored in this tomb. The prayer requests the gods' protection and blessings for the afterlife, reflecting the ancient Egyptians' belief in the continuation of life beyond death. The architrave also features various symbols and animals, such as the owl, which held significant spiritual and protective meanings in ancient Egyptian culture. The meticulous craftsmanship of the relief sculpture underscores the importance of art and symbolism in the funerary practices of the era. This exquisite artifact is now preserved and displayed at the British Museum in London, where it continues to captivate visitors and scholars alike, offering valuable insights into the history, religion, and art of ancient Egypt.
