23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Miss Thomas Atkins - A Nurturing Nurse in the 1940s Family Gathering

EDITORS COMMENTS
Miss Thomas Atkins, a kind and caring nurse, takes a moment to join in a game of "Happy Families" with her beloved patients and their families. The scene captures the essence of unity and joy during a simple moment in the 1940s. Miss Thomas Atkins, dressed in her nursing uniform, sits comfortably in a plush armchair, her arms wrapped around a young girl, as they share a laugh over their cards. The girl, with a cherubic face and rosy cheeks, clutches a teddy bear close to her chest, her eyes sparkling with excitement. To her left, a group of children, all wearing various expressions of focus and determination, gather around the table, their hands poised over their cards. A red cross symbol, a reminder of Miss Thomas Atkins' profession, is visible on the table, symbolizing the healing and care she provides to her patients. In the background, a young boy, Tommy Atkins, peeks over the edge of the table, a curious and mischievous grin on his face. He holds a bottle and a bandage, perhaps preparing to play a trick on his siblings or simply joining in the fun. The atmosphere is filled with warmth, love, and the spirit of togetherness, as the families come together for a moment of joy and connection. The photograph, taken in the 1940s, offers a glimpse into a time when the simple pleasures of life, like a game of cards, brought families and communities closer together. Miss Thomas Atkins, with her nurturing presence and infectious smile, is a beacon of hope and happiness in this heartwarming scene.
