1808 1892 Baron Bramwell Judge Plump Vanity Wing
23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This portrait captures the distinguished visage of George William Wiltshere, Baron Bramwell (1808-1892), an eminent judge of his time. The image, created during the Victorian era, showcases Baron Bramwell in the prime of his life, with a plump face framed by voluminous, white hair that cascades over his shoulders. His piercing eyes gaze intently, exuding an air of wisdom and authority. Baron Bramwell's attire is that of a judge in the late 19th century, with a winged collar and a crisp, white shirt. The intricate details of the collar, adorned with delicate lace, add an element of elegance and refinement to the portrait. The baron's serious expression and the somber background further emphasize the gravity of his position. This photograph is a testament to the vanity fair culture of the time, where individuals sought to immortalize their image and status through portraits. The baron's portrait, with its meticulous attention to detail and striking composition, is a prime example of the artistry and craftsmanship that characterized the era. Baron Bramwell's career as a judge spanned several decades, during which he made significant contributions to the legal system in England. His tenure was marked by a commitment to upholding the law and ensuring justice for all. This portrait not only serves as a visual representation of the baron's esteemed position but also as a historical artifact that offers a glimpse into the social and cultural norms of the Victorian era.
