23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This image showcases the Grave Monument of Archippe, a masterpiece of Greek art dating back to approximately 390 BC. The monument takes the form of a lekythos, an oil flask commonly used as a funerary vessel in ancient Greece. The relief on the front side depicts a poignant scene of a seated woman, identified as Archippe, mourned by another woman, believed to be her maid Xeno, with a young child in her lap. The intricate details of the sculpture reveal the advanced skills of Greek artisans during the 4th century BC. The women are dressed in traditional Greek attire, with their hair styled in elaborate braids and adorned with jewelry. The child, with a serene expression, adds a sense of tenderness and maternal love to the scene. The monument was discovered in Greece and is now housed in the Glyptothek, a museum in Munich, Germany, dedicated to ancient Greek and Roman sculptures. The monument is a testament to the importance of family and motherhood in ancient Greek society and provides valuable insights into the cultural practices and values of the time. The use of oil on the relief adds a sense of depth and texture to the image, making it a stunning example of the intricacy and beauty of ancient Greek art. The monument's preservation in the Glyptothek allows us to appreciate and learn from the artistic achievements of the ancient Greeks, providing a connection to the rich history and heritage of Europe and the world.
