Crockery Pewter Rear

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

1. Title: "An Antique Pewter Plate with Reeded Edge and FHM Initial Markings: A Glimpse into the Past" This evocative image showcases a large, round pewter plate with a reeded edge, displaying the initials "FHM" and various hallmarks. The plate, which dates back to before 1735, is a testament to the rich history of English craftsmanship in the production of pewterware. The plate, rendered in the soft, mellow hue of grey, is set against a pristine white background, allowing the intricate details of the object to take center stage. The horizontal orientation of the image provides a clear, unobstructed view of the plate's surface, revealing the subtle texture of the reeded edge and the distinct hallmarks that mark its origin. The single plate, positioned in the rear of the frame, invites the viewer to imagine the grandeur of a bygone era. Pewterware was once a popular choice for crockery in English households due to its durability and versatility. The use of pewter for tableware was a status symbol, as it was an expensive and labor-intensive process to produce. The plate's initials, "FHM," are a personal touch that adds to its allure. The various hallmarks, including the maker's mark and the date mark, provide valuable information about the plate's origin and history. This image offers a glimpse into the past, transporting us to a time when pewterware was a cherished possession and a symbol of wealth and status.
