31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph, titled "Three Men, a Ladder, a Doorway: A Moment of Time Caught by Fox Talbot's Pencil of Nature," is a historical gem from the annals of early photography. Taken by the pioneering English photographer William Henry Fox Talbot in circa 1845, this image showcases three men in the midst of an everyday task, standing before a doorway with a ladder leaning against the wall. The scene is bathed in the soft, diffused light of the past, with the men's shadows stretching long and dark against the wall. Fox Talbot, considered a founding father of photography, is renowned for his groundbreaking work in the field. He coined the term "photography," derived from the Greek words for light and drawing, and is known for his innovative use of the calotype process, which allowed for multiple prints to be made from a single negative. This image, with its intriguing composition and evocative sense of history, serves as a prime example of Talbot's mastery of the medium. The men in the photograph appear to be in the midst of a repair or maintenance task, their focused expressions and postures conveying a sense of purpose and industry. The doorway, with its worn and weathered frame, serves as a reminder of the passage of time and the enduring nature of human endeavor. The intricate play of light and shadow, so crucial to the art of photography, is expertly captured, with the ladder casting long, dramatic shadows that add depth and texture to the image. This photograph, a testament to the power of the camera to capture a moment in time, invites us to reflect on the rich history of photography and the enduring human desire to preserve and document our world.
