23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Mermaids, those enchanting beings with the upper body of a woman and the lower body of a fish, have captivated the human imagination for centuries. This evocative image from the Mary Evans Picture Library depicts a mermaid in the act of combing her long, flowing locks. The mermaid's expression is serene and contemplative as she gazes out at the vast expanse of water before her. Her comb, a delicate seashell adorned with pearls, glints in the sunlight as she carefully detangles her hair. Mermaids have been a part of folklore and mythology for thousands of years, with the earliest recorded sightings dating back to ancient civilizations such as the Greeks, Egyptians, and Assyrians. These mythical creatures were often depicted as protectors of the sea and fishermen, and were believed to possess magical powers. Mermaids were said to sing beautiful songs that could lure sailors to their deaths, or to help guide lost ships safely to shore. Despite their fantastical nature, mermaids have left a lasting impact on human culture. They have been the subject of countless works of art, literature, and music, and continue to inspire artists and storytellers to this day. This image of a mermaid combing her hair is a beautiful reminder of the enduring allure of these mysterious and enchanting beings. The intricate details of the mermaid's hair and seashell comb, as well as the lush underwater setting, make this a truly captivating and timeless work of art. The muted colors and soft lighting add to the dreamlike quality of the image, transporting us to a world of magic and wonder beneath the waves.
