17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning watercolor drawing, titled "Folkestone, Kent," is an exquisite work of art created by the renowned Irish artist James Moore in 1849. The image captures the picturesque coastal town of Folkestone, located in Kent, England, in its early stages of development. Moore's masterful use of color and brushwork brings the scene to life, with the vibrant hues of the sun setting over the English Channel, casting a warm glow on the town's buildings and the tranquil waters. The composition of the drawing is carefully balanced, with the eye drawn to the center of the image by the tall, elegant chimneys of the steamships in the harbor. The intricate details of the boats and the winding pathways leading to the water's edge add depth and texture to the piece, while the gentle curve of the beach and the rolling hills in the distance create a sense of serenity and tranquility. Moore's background as an Irish artist is evident in the lush greenery and the soft, ethereal quality of the light in the drawing. The use of paper adds an authentic, tactile element to the piece, transporting the viewer back in time to the mid-19th century. Folkestone, Kent was a popular destination for artists and tourists during this period, and Moore's drawing is a testament to the enduring beauty and charm of the town. This watercolor drawing is a must-have for any art collection, and a beautiful reminder of the rich history and natural beauty of the English coastline.
