FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning 14th-century illustration depicts a significant moment in the history of Catalonia: the Catalan Parliament assembled in Montblanc on June 18, 1333, under the chairmanship of Alfonso III, King of Aragon and Count of Barcelona. Known as Alfonso the Kind, he was the son of James II and Blanche of Anjou. The parliament was an essential part of the political structure of the Crown of Aragon, a collection of territories in the western Mediterranean that included Aragon, Catalonia, Valencia, and Majorca. The illustration shows the king seated on a throne, wearing his royal miter and holding a scepter, surrounded by a group of politicians, priests, and scribes. The Catalan Parliament, represented by the white cross on a red background in the lower left corner of the image, is depicted in the background, with the coat of arms of the Crown of Aragon above it. The Folio of Codex of the Usages, the manuscript depicted in the image, is an essential document in the history of Catalan law. It contains the Usatges de Barcelona, a collection of customary law that had been in use in Catalonia since the 13th century. The manuscript was illuminated with intricate miniatures and decorations, reflecting the importance of the document and the prestige of the monarchy. The image provides a glimpse into the political and administrative structures of the Crown of Aragon during the Middle Ages, showcasing the role of the monarch, the parliament, and the scribes in the creation and preservation of the law. The Folio of Codex of the Usages remains an invaluable historical resource, providing insights into the political, legal, and cultural history of Catalonia and the Crown of Aragon.
