23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative image captures the intense and brutal clash between Native American horsemen and a group of white settlers during the 19th century in North America. The photograph, taken during a pivotal moment in the contact history between Europeans and indigenous peoples, portrays the raw and visceral nature of the conflict that characterized this period. The Native American warriors, dressed in traditional garb and armed with bows, spears, and tomahawks, charge towards their adversaries with determination and courage. Their faces are etched with focus and intensity, as they prepare to engage in hand-to-hand combat with the white settlers, who are armed with rifles and pistols. The scene unfolds at close quarters, with the horsemen and foot soldiers locked in a fierce struggle. The chaos of the battle is palpable, with dust and debris flying through the air as horses rear and riders are thrown from their mounts. The racial divide is stark, with the Native Americans on one side and the Europeans on the other, highlighting the deep-rooted tensions that would shape the course of American history. This photograph is a poignant reminder of the complex and often violent interactions between Native Americans and European settlers during the contact era. It offers a glimpse into the past, providing valuable insights into the lives and experiences of the people who shaped the history of the Americas. The image is a testament to the resilience and tenacity of both the Native American warriors and the white settlers, and serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring impact of colonialism on indigenous peoples.
