31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The Evening Wireless - Komarjan Bridge: A Topographical Masterpiece of the Western Front in World War I by Frank Algernon Stewart (1877-1945) This evocative photograph print, titled "The Evening Wireless - Komarjan Bridge," transports us back to the Struma Valley Front in Salonika during the tumultuous years of 1917 and 1918. The image, captured by renowned British topographical artist Frank Algernon Stewart, offers a unique glimpse into the communication efforts and military presence during this pivotal period of World War I. The Komarjan Bridge, a vital link in the transportation network, stands proudly in the foreground. The bridge's sturdy arches, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, serve as a testament to the engineering prowess of the era. The tranquil waters of the Struma River flow gently beneath, creating a stark contrast to the surrounding chaos of war. In the background, the 1st Surrey Yeomanry Regiment, a distinguished cavalry unit, is depicted in their final moments of rest before setting out on their next mission. The horses, their coats glistening with sweat, stand patiently, their riders engaged in a lively conversation. The scene is a poignant reminder of the crucial role horses played in the military during the early 20th century. The title "The Evening Wireless" alludes to the innovative use of wireless communication technology during the war. This cutting-edge technology allowed for the exchange of vital information between military units, enabling them to adapt and respond to the ever-changing tides of battle. Frank Algernon Stewart's masterpiece, "The Evening Wireless - Komarjan Bridge," is a testament to the resilience, ingenuity, and determination of those who served during World War I.
