23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This image showcases two exquisite fragments of ancient Egyptian artifacts, both adorned with intricate hieroglyphic writing. The top fragment belongs to the sarcophagus of Merenptah, a Pharaoh of the 19th Dynasty during the New Kingdom era, around 1213-1203 BC. Originally from the tomb VIII in the Valley of the Kings, this calcite fragment is now housed in the British Museum in London, United Kingdom. The bottom fragment, also from the New Kingdom, is believed to be from the sarcophagus lid of Seti I, who ruled Egypt from 1294-1279 BC. The precise origin of this fragment remains unknown. Both fragments are adorned with hieroglyphic writing, an ancient Egyptian system of writing and recording history, which is considered one of the most significant achievements of the ancient world. The hieroglyphs on these fragments are not only symbols but also a window into the past, providing valuable insights into the culture, beliefs, and history of ancient Egypt. The intricate details of the writing and the delicate craftsmanship of the calcite and sarcophagus fragments are a testament to the artistic and historical significance of this ancient civilization. The 13th century BC fragments are a reminder of the rich history and cultural heritage of Egypt, which continues to captivate and inspire scholars, artists, and visitors from around the world. The British Museum's collection of Egyptian artifacts, including these hieroglyphic fragments, is a must-see for anyone interested in ancient history and culture.
