23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This image showcases the exquisite decoration of a mastaba tomb in the ancient Egyptian Necropolis of Saqqara, dating back to the 5th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, around 2400 BC. The mastaba, a type of flat-roofed, rectangular ancient Egyptian tomb, is adorned with intricately sculpted figures and hieroglyphics. In this particular room, the deceased's sculptures are displayed in niches along the walls. The central figure, depicted in a seated position, is believed to represent the deceased himself, dressed in the attire of a pharaoh and holding symbols of power. The figure's serene expression and regal posture convey a sense of dignity and importance. The hieroglyphics inscribed on the walls tell the story of the deceased's life and his journey to the afterlife. The figures in the niches, including attendants, animals, and gods, are all sculpted in a highly detailed and realistic manner, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of the ancient Egyptian artisans. The interior of the mastaba is a testament to the ancient Egyptians' belief in the afterlife and their dedication to preserving the memory of their deceased loved ones. The meticulous attention to detail and the use of naturalistic materials such as stone and colorful pigments demonstrate the advanced artistic and architectural achievements of the Egyptian civilization during the Old Kingdom period. The Necropolis of Saqqara, located south of modern-day Cairo, was a major burial site for the ancient Egyptians, and the mastabas built there during the Old Kingdom are considered some of the most well-preserved examples of ancient Egyptian architecture and art.
