17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this evocative image, a Druidess of the Ile de Sayne, a sacred island in ancient Gaul, is seen revealing the destiny of her people to their brave leader, Vercingetorix. The year is circa 60 BC, and the Romans, under the command of Julius Caesar, are closing in on Gaul. The Druidess, with her mystical powers, holds the answer to the uncertain future of the Gaulish resistance. Vercingetorix, a skilled warrior and charismatic leader, sits before her, intently listening to her words. The Druidess, with a solemn expression, touches the crystal ball oracle in her hands, her eyes focused on the swirling patterns within. The oracle, a tool used by the Druids to communicate with the gods, is believed to hold the answers to the most pressing questions of the time. The Druidess' revelation is a heavy burden for Vercingetorix to bear. The fate of his countrymen rests on his shoulders, and the knowledge of what lies ahead could either strengthen his resolve or fill him with despair. The image captures a pivotal moment in history, a moment of truth and determination, as Vercingetorix prepares to lead his people to an inevitable clash with the mighty Roman army. The paranormal practices of the Druids, including divination and oracles, played a significant role in the religious and political life of ancient Gaul. This image offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the Gaulish people, a civilization that, despite its eventual defeat by the Romans, left an indelible mark on European history.
