23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

1. Title: "An Edwardian Apprenticeship: John Henry Watson's Indenture with Messrs. John Davis & Son (Derby) Limited (1 of 2), 3 January 1902". This evocative document, dated 3 January 1902, represents an apprenticeship indenture between John Henry Watson and Messrs. John Davis & Son (Derby) Limited. Apprenticeships were a traditional method of skills training in industries during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, providing young people with the opportunity to learn a trade under the guidance of a master craftsman. John Henry Watson, a determined young man, embarked on his apprenticeship journey with Messrs. John Davis & Son, a well-established and respected company in Derby. The document, adorned with official seals and signatures, serves as a testament to the binding agreement between the apprentice and the master. The indenture outlines the terms and conditions of the apprenticeship, including the duration, the nature of the trade, and the responsibilities of both parties. John Henry Watson agreed to serve for a period of five years, during which he would receive room, board, and wages, as well as the opportunity to learn the intricacies of the trade. In return, he was expected to be obedient, diligent, and committed to his craft. This document, a relic from a bygone era, offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of Edwardian employment and apprenticeships. It represents a significant milestone in John Henry Watson's life, marking the beginning of his journey towards becoming a skilled craftsman in his chosen industry.
