17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This charming pair of Coronation hair clips, produced in 1953 to commemorate the historic event of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation, exudes an air of regal elegance and patriotic pride. The clips feature a small, intricately detailed crown on each one, symbolizing the monarch's authority and sovereignty. The youthful image of Princess Elizabeth, who would soon ascend to the throne, graces the packaging, adding a personal touch to these commemorative accessories. The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, held on June 2, 1953, was a grand and spectacular occasion that marked the official beginning of her reign. The event brought the British people together in a display of unity and national pride, making these hair clips a cherished keepsake for those who wanted to honor the momentous occasion. The design of the clips, with their retro aesthetic and kitsch appeal, is reminiscent of the 1950s, a decade defined by its love for all things royal and patriotic. The use of the Union Jack flag on the packaging further emphasizes the patriotic sentiment, adding to the overall charm of these commemorative accessories. These regal hair clips, with their small crowns and evocative imagery, offer a glimpse into the past, transporting us back to a time when the coronation of a monarch was a cause for national celebration and pride. A true piece of memorabilia from an era long gone, these hair clips are a must-have for anyone with an appreciation for royal history and retro fashion.
