23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

1. Title: "A Tribute to Augustus: The Commemorative Plaque of Lucretius Zethus" This image showcases a first-century AD commemorative plaque dedicated to Augustus, discovered in Via di Monte Brianzo, Rome, and now housed in the Palazzo Massimo of the Roman National Museum in Italy. The marble fragment, inscribed with an inscription in Latin scriptures, provides a glimpse into the historical era of ancient Rome and the reverence held for its first emperor. The plaque, dedicated by a free man named Lucretius Zethus, serves as a testament to the enduring influence of Augustus. The inscription, though fragmented, reveals that Lucretus was expressing his gratitude and loyalty to Augustus. The artifact's intricate design and the meticulous craftsmanship of the inscription further emphasize the significance of Augustus' rule during the Roman Age. The commemorative plaque, with its historical and artistic value, offers a unique insight into the Roman society of the time. The use of marble and the careful inscription of the text underscores the importance of literacy and the written word in Roman culture. The discovery of such artifacts in museums like the Palazzo Massimo is essential for scholars and history enthusiasts to study and understand the historical context of ancient Rome. The image of the plaque not only transports us back to the age of Augustus but also highlights the rich history and cultural heritage of Italy. The intricate details of the inscription, the worn edges of the marble, and the timeworn patina all contribute to the allure and mystery of this ancient artifact.
