17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This colored engraving, hailing from the 19th century, offers a glimpse into the rich industrial history of Quaregnon County in Belgium, specifically focusing on the Coal mining industry. The image, titled "Coal mining. Herscheuse Mining. Quaregnon County. Belgium," showcases the intricate interplay between man and nature as miners extract coal from the earth. The scene is dominated by the imposing chimneys of the coal-fired power plants, belching thick plumes of smoke into the sky. The bridge, a testament to engineering prowess, spans the river that runs through the valley, connecting the various parts of the mining complex. The rail tracks leading to the bridge suggest the efficient transportation of coal from the mines to the factories. The miners, dressed in traditional attire, can be seen working diligently in the pit, their small, individual lamps casting a feeble light in the dark, damp mine. The scene is a poignant reminder of the harsh realities of the industrial age, where the pursuit of economic prosperity came at a significant cost to the health and wellbeing of the labor force. The Coal mining industry played a pivotal role in Belgium's economic growth during the 19th century. This image encapsulates the raw power and determination of the human spirit, as well as the environmental impact of the Industrial Revolution. The Coal mining industry, with its intricate network of mines and factories, transformed the landscape of Quaregnon County and left an indelible mark on Belgium's history.
