17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this image from ancient history, Cleopatra VII, the legendary Queen of Egypt, is depicted in a moment of political and emotional defiance against Marc Antony, the powerful Roman general and politician. The year is 41 B.C., and the location is the opulent palace of Cleopatra in Alexandria, Egypt. Cleopatra, dressed in the elegant attire of her Egyptian heritage, sits regally on her throne, her serene expression betraying no hint of the tense negotiations taking place. In her hand, she holds a letter, the contents of which have evidently provoked her strong reaction. Marc Antony, shown in military attire, stands before her, his face a mixture of surprise and disappointment as he extends an invitation for a dinner at his quarters. However, Cleopatra, with a swift and decisive gesture, refuses Antony's invitation, her eyes flashing with determination. Instead, she extends an invitation of her own, inviting Antony as a guest to a grand feast she will host in his honor at her palace. The power dynamic between the two figures is palpable, as Cleopatra asserts her sovereignty and independence, while Antony, captivated by her beauty and charm, is left to ponder the implications of her unexpected response. This intriguing scene offers a glimpse into the complex relationship between Cleopatra and Marc Antony, two of the most influential figures of the ancient world. Their alliance, marked by love, politics, and power, would ultimately lead to significant consequences for Egypt, Rome, and the Mediterranean world. The image, captured by the Illustrated London News Ltd. and brought to life through the artistic talents of Mary Evans Prints Online, serves as a captivating reminder of the enduring allure and intrigue of this iconic historical moment.
