17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this striking photograph taken in 1932, Winston Churchill, the legendary English statesman and Nobel Prize laureate, is seen in a moment of defiance and determination as he is being transported from his London flat to a West End nursing home via ambulance. Churchill, who was known for his heavy smoking, was taken ill with paratyphoid fever and was being moved for further medical attention. Despite his debilitated state, Churchill refuses to let go of his beloved cigar, taking a cheeky puff as he is being stretchered into the ambulance. The image captures the indomitable spirit of the man who would go on to lead Britain through World War II and become one of the most iconic figures of the 20th century. The photograph is a poignant reminder of the challenges Churchill faced throughout his life, both in health and in politics. The 1930s were a particularly turbulent time for Churchill, who was out of power and facing criticism for his past mistakes. Yet, even in the face of illness, he remained true to himself and his habits. The image also speaks to the evolution of healthcare in the 1930s. Ambulances were a relatively new innovation, and their use was still limited to emergency situations. The fact that Churchill was being transported in one demonstrates the advances being made in medical care and the growing recognition of the importance of proper healthcare for all, regardless of social status. Overall, this photograph is a fascinating glimpse into the life of a legendary figure and a poignant reminder of the resilience of the human spirit. Despite the challenges he faced, Churchill remained true to himself, even in the most difficult of circumstances.
