17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
A Charming Scene of Intergenerational Connection in Rural Essex: Chatting over a Gate at The Old Mill, Great Bardfield, in the 1930s This photograph, taken in the picturesque village of Great Bardfield, Essex, in the 1930s, presents a charming and timeless scene of intergenerational connection. The image, which features a girl sitting on a wall and two men leaning against a five-bar gate at The Old Mill, beautifully encapsulates the essence of rural life during the 20th century. The wall, worn and weathered by the passage of time, serves as a backdrop for the trio's animated conversation. The men, dressed in clothing typical of the era, engage in a lively discussion, their body language and facial expressions conveying a sense of camaraderie and ease. The girl, with her rosy cheeks and bright eyes, appears to be fully immersed in the exchange, her youthful curiosity piqued by the men's words. The Old Mill, a historical landmark in Great Bardfield, adds an air of nostalgia to the scene. The five-bar gate, a common feature in rural Britain, serves as a symbol of the social connections that once thrived in communities like this one. The rolling hills and lush greenery in the background further emphasize the idyllic and pastoral nature of the scene. This photograph, with its rich historical context and evocative imagery, transports us back to a simpler time. It invites us to reflect on the importance of connection and community, and the enduring power of a good conversation, even over the humblest of gates.
