17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
"This portrait, created by the renowned French artist Théodore Chassériau in 1836, showcases Francois VI, Duke of La Rochefoucauld. The Duke, born in 1613, was a significant figure in French history, serving as a military leader and statesman during the 17th century. Chassériau masterfully captured the Duke's regal presence and wisdom in this stunning oil on canvas painting. The Duke is depicted in a formal attire, with an air of authority and confidence that radiates from the portrait. His piercing gaze, framed by the intricately detailed fur collar and the rich fabric of his robe, draws the viewer in. The use of color and lighting adds depth and texture to the painting, creating a sense of realism and authenticity. This portrait was created during Chassériau's formative years as an artist, and it is a testament to his exceptional talent and skill. It is currently housed in the National Museum of Versailles, where it continues to captivate visitors from around the world. The painting is a prime example of the artistic excellence of the French portrait tradition and a reminder of the enduring legacy of the Duke of La Rochefoucauld." This image is a rights-managed reproduction of the original painting by Théodore Chassériau, titled "Portrait of Francois VI, Duke of La Rochefoucauld," created in 1836. The original painting is currently on display at the National Museum of Versailles in France.
