23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this evocative photograph from the early 1910s, we step into the cool, dimly lit world of the Caves de J.M. Monmousseau at Montrichard in the Loire Valley, France. The image captures the essence of the wine industry in the Touraine region during a bygone era. The scene unfolds in the heart of the cellar, where rows of bottles lined up on wooden shelves await their transformation into fine sparkling wines. The air is filled with a crisp, refreshing chill, a result of the constant cool temperature maintained in the cellar to preserve the delicate flavors of the wine. At the center of the photograph, a vintner meticulously applies labels to the necks of the bottles, his deft hands moving with practiced ease. Nearby, a worker carefully fills a bottle with the precious liquid, while another checks the conditions of the corks. The intricate process of packing, bottling, and labelling each bottle is a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship that goes into producing each bottle of wine. The Caves de J.M. Monmousseau have been a fixture in the Montrichard wine scene for generations, and this photograph offers a rare glimpse into the inner workings of the winery during its early days. The scene is a beautiful reminder of the rich history and tradition of wine production in the Loire Valley, and the care and attention to detail that goes into creating each bottle of wine. This photograph is a treasure trove of history, transporting us back in time to an era when the wine industry was a labor of love, and the fruits of the vineyard were carefully tended to, from vine to bottle, with the utmost care and dedication.
