17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Castlerock, Co. Derry (1866): A Watercolour Masterpiece by James Moore Castlerock, a picturesque coastal town located in County Derry, Northern Ireland, is beautifully captured in this exquisite watercolour drawing by James Moore, created in the year 1866. The intricate detail and vibrant colours bring the scene to life, transporting the viewer to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Moore, a renowned Irish artist, expertly portrays the rugged cliffs, crashing waves, and the quaint cottages that line the shore. The drawing showcases the raw power and beauty of nature, with the vast expanse of the ocean meeting the rocky cliffs, creating a breathtaking contrast. The cottages, nestled among the rocks, add a sense of tranquility and charm to the scene. The use of watercolour on paper adds to the authenticity and richness of the image. The technique allows for the delicate rendering of the intricate details, from the ripples in the water to the textures of the rocks and the thatched roofs of the cottages. The paper, with its slight texture and aged appearance, adds to the antique feel of the drawing. This stunning watercolour drawing, created over a century and a half ago, remains a testament to the artistic talent and skill of James Moore. It offers a glimpse into the past, providing a window into the history and beauty of Castlerock, Co. Derry, and the Irish coastline.
