17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Cardigan Castle, located in the picturesque town of Cardigan in Ceredigion, Wales, stands proudly yet incomplete, a testament to the rich history of this region. The castle, surrounded by a tranquil lake and a quaint village, once served as a stronghold for the Normans in the 11th century. With its impressive moat, drawbridge, and towering turrets, it was a formidable fortress in its time. However, the castle's storied past was not without conflict. In the tumultuous 17th century, during the English Civil War, Cardigan Castle was finally and partially destroyed by the forces of Oliver Cromwell. The once impenetrable walls were breached, and the castle was reduced to ruins. Despite the damage, the castle continues to captivate visitors with its historical significance and breathtaking beauty. The lake, which surrounds the castle, reflects the turrets and towers, creating a serene and reflective atmosphere. Boats glide gently on the water, adding to the idyllic scene. The castle's history is not lost on the people of Cardigan. Efforts have been made to preserve and restore the remaining structures, allowing visitors to explore the ruins and learn about the castle's past. The castle grounds also serve as a popular venue for various events and activities, including historical reenactments and cultural festivals. As we gaze upon this image of Cardigan Castle, we are transported back in time, imagining the hustle and bustle of medieval life, the clash of swords during battle, and the eventual restoration of this historic landmark. The castle remains an enduring symbol of Wales' rich history, a reminder of the past, and a beacon for the future.
