17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: A Nostalgic Evening in 1940s London: Cafe Anglais on The Strand. Step back in time to a vibrant and lively evening in London during the 1940s, as captured in this evocative photograph of Cafe Anglais on The Strand. This charming establishment offered visitors a unique experience where they could meet friends, enjoy a delicious meal, and dance the night away with the inimitable Alan Carr until midnight. The atmosphere was further enhanced by the weekly old-time dancing events held at the nearby Lyceum on The Strand. Visitors could don their finest attire and dance the night away to the rhythm of the era's most popular tunes. For those seeking entertainment beyond the dance floor, the Odeon cinema on the same street presented an excellent alternative. In this image, the marquee proudly announces the screening of the romantic comedy "Bachelor Knight," starring the dashing Cary Grant, the glamorous Myrna Loy, and the precocious Shirley Temple. For those wanting to extend their stay, the Quality Inn, also on The Strand, provided comfortable accommodations. This photograph captures the essence of a bygone era, where the simple pleasures of meeting friends, dining, dancing, and enjoying a film could create an unforgettable evening in London during the 1940s. Date: 1947. This image is not to be used for commercial purposes and is available for purchase as a print from Mary Evans Prints Online.
