31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this enchanting photograph, taken in the heart of Balham, South West London during the 1960s, four scruffy-faced boys are seen engaging in a playful game with toy guns on a quiet residential street. The boys, dressed in typical 1960s attire, are holding three toy rifles and a machine gun, their cheeks flushed with excitement and mischief. Their laughter and joy are palpable as they aim and fire their imaginary weapons at each other, oblivious to the passing milk bottle deliveryman. The scene is reminiscent of a bygone era, a time when children spent hours playing in the streets, creating their own adventures and making memories. The boys' rough-and-tumble play is a testament to the simple joys of childhood, and their carefree demeanor is a stark contrast to the more structured and regimented lives of today's children. The backdrop of the photograph is a row of terraced houses, their red brick walls and white window frames adding to the charm of the image. The houses, which were once home to many families, are a reminder of the history and rich cultural heritage of Balham and its people. This photograph is a precious snapshot of a moment in time, capturing the innocence and joy of childhood in the 1960s. It is a reminder of the importance of allowing children the freedom to explore and play, and of the enduring power of a simple toy gun to ignite the imagination and create hours of fun.
