17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "Adoretus Versutus: The Agile Rose Beetle". This image showcases the intricately patterned exoskeleton of an Adoretus versutus, commonly known as the rose beetle. Native to the volcanic island of St. Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean, this species belongs to the Scarabaeidae family, specifically the Rutelidae and Dynastidae subfamilies. The Adoretus versutus is an essential member of the Rosaceae family, which includes roses, and is classified under the Angiospermae, Magnoliophyta, Eudicot, and Rosales orders. As an invertebrate and arthropod, the rose beetle is part of the Hexapoda class, characterized by having six legs. More specifically, it falls under the Coleoptera order, which translates to "sheath-winged," referring to the protective forewings that cover their wings when at rest. The Adoretus versutus is a large, agile beetle, with adults measuring up to 3.5 centimeters in length. Its vibrant, iridescent exoskeleton is a striking contrast against the lush green foliage of the rose plant it frequently inhabits. The rose beetle plays a crucial role in the ecosystem as a pollinator and seed disperser for various rose species. Its elongated, curved mandibles are adapted for gnawing on the rose flowers and buds, which can initially appear damaging to the plant. However, the beetle's feeding habits also contribute to the plant's overall health by promoting new growth and increasing its resilience. This photograph offers a unique glimpse into the intricate world of the Adoretus versutus and its symbiotic relationship with the rose plant. It is a testament to the beauty and importance of the intricate connections that exist between various species within the natural world.
