1415 Agincourt Cavalry Charge Victory Years

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative print captures the intensity and chaos of the decisive moment during the Battle of Agincourt in 1415. The English army, led by King Henry V, is shown repelling a French cavalry charge with great determination and courage. The year was 1415, and the battle took place in October near the small town of Agincourt in northern France. The English forces, vastly outnumbered, had managed to hold their ground against the advancing French knights, who charged in with an air of superiority and arrogance. The Battle of Agincourt is considered one of the most famous battles in English history, and it marked a turning point in the Hundred Years War between England and France. The English victory was largely attributed to their disciplined infantry formations, the use of longbows, and the unexpectedly wet and muddy terrain, which made it difficult for the French cavalry to maneuver effectively. Despite the odds being stacked against them, the English emerged victorious, with estimates suggesting that they lost between 100 and 250 men, while the French losses were believed to be in the thousands. The battlefield was littered with the dead and wounded, and the English claimed a significant victory that boosted morale and strengthened their claim to the French throne. This print provides a glimpse into the past, transporting us back to a time of war, honor, and bravery. It serves as a reminder of the pivotal role that battles have played in shaping history and the indomitable spirit of those who fought in them.
