17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph from the 1950s, we witness an iconic moment in aviation history as two pioneering airliners, the BEA (British European Airways) Vickers Viscount and the Aeroflot Tupolev Tu-104B, prepare for their respective departures at London Heathrow Airport (LHR/EGLL). The image, taken in the heart of the 1940s and 1950s aviation boom, showcases the diversity and innovation of the era. The Vickers Viscount, a British-designed and built turboprop-powered airliner, is parked on the tarmac, its distinctive winglets and twin engines proudly on display. The Viscount revolutionized the regional aviation market, offering faster and more comfortable travel compared to propeller-driven competitors. Its success paved the way for the jet age and ushered in a new era of air travel. Meanwhile, the Soviet Union's Tupolev Tu-104B taxis past, a testament to the global reach and competition of the time. This sleek, jet-powered airliner represented the pinnacle of Soviet aviation technology and was a formidable competitor to Western airliners. The photograph's background reveals the Hunting Hangar, a significant part of London Heathrow's history. The hangar, which still stands today, was once the largest in the world and played a crucial role in the development of British aviation. This photograph encapsulates the spirit of the 1950s aviation industry – innovation, competition, and progress. It serves as a reminder of a time when the skies were filled with groundbreaking aircraft and the world seemed smaller with each new flight.
