23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This nineteenth century illustration showcases the Anthus pratensis, or Meadow Pipit, a small, agile bird belonging to the Motacillidae family and the Passeriformes order. The Meadow Pipit is a common passerine found throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. Known for their distinctive cream-colored underparts and brown upperparts, these birds are often seen perched on open ground in meadows, moorlands, and grasslands. John, the artist, masterfully captured the intricate details of this bird's plumage and expressive features, making it a striking addition to any natural history collection. The Meadow Pipit's alert posture and bright, piercing eyes convey a sense of alertness and curiosity, as if it is ready to take flight at a moment's notice. This illustration transports us back in time to a simpler era, where the beauty and wonder of nature were celebrated and documented with great care and attention to detail. The soft, muted colors and delicate shading create a sense of tranquility and harmony, making it a perfect piece for those who appreciate the natural world and the intricacies of avian anatomy. The Meadow Pipit is an important component of many ecosystems, playing a crucial role in controlling insect populations and contributing to the overall health of grasslands and meadows. Observing these birds in their natural habitat is a delight for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts alike, and this illustration serves as a beautiful reminder of the diversity and richness of the natural world.
