17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The Annunciation," painted by Flemish artist Wenceslas Cobergher in 1590, is a breathtaking masterpiece depicting the momentous event when the Archangel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and bear the Son of God. This exquisite panel painting is housed in the Church of Saint Francis in Ariano Irpino, Italy, and is a prime example of the European Renaissance art of the 16th century. Cobergher masterfully captures the essence of the scene with Mary, seated at a table adorned with a jar of lilies, reading a book, her pensive expression reflecting her contemplation of the divine message she has received. Gabriel, with his wings spread, stands before her, his arms outstretched in a gesture of respect and reverence. The holy spirit is depicted as a dove, descending from above, symbolizing the divine intervention in human affairs. The painting is filled with symbolism and detail, from the lilies, which represent the purity and innocence of the Virgin, to the open book, which signifies Mary's submission to God's will. The use of flowers, particularly the lily, was a common motif in Renaissance art, representing the Virgin Mary and her purity. This stunning work of art, with its intricate details and beautiful use of color, is a testament to the artistic skill and religious devotion of the time. It is a reminder of the deep spiritual beliefs that shaped European culture during the Renaissance and continues to inspire and captivate viewers to this day. The Annunciation is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of art, religion, or European culture. Its preservation in the Church of Saint Francis in Ariano Irpino ensures that future generations can continue to appreciate and learn from this masterpiece of the 16th century.
