23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures the essence of a cherished Christmas tradition as angels toll a bell in this beautiful image from the Mary Evans Picture Library, dated circa 1905. The historical scene transports us back in time, inviting us to imagine the magic of a bygone era. The bell, a symbol of hope, faith, and the passing of time, is being tolled by a pair of exquisitely crafted angels. Their wings spread wide, they seem to hover in mid-air, their ethereal forms bathed in soft, warm light. The intricate details of their gossamer wings and the delicate folds of their robes are a testament to the skill of the artist or photographer who captured this moment. The origins of angels tolling bells as a Christmas custom are shrouded in history. Some believe it dates back to the Middle Ages, when bells were rung to announce the birth of Jesus. Others suggest it may have originated from the ringing of bells to ward off evil spirits. Regardless of its origins, the tradition continues to be a beloved part of Christmas celebrations around the world. This photograph is not only a beautiful work of art but also a window into the past, offering a glimpse into the customs and traditions that have shaped our holiday season for generations. As we gaze upon the serene faces of the angels and listen to the tolling of the bell, we are reminded of the enduring power of faith, hope, and the magic of the Christmas season.
