23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this evocative photograph taken circa 1906, we witness a moment in the daily life of a nomadic Berber tribe in Biskra, Algeria. The scene unfolds before a backdrop of arid, sandy dunes, with the sun casting long shadows over the encampment. At the heart of the camp, a group of women are gathered around a rotary quern, grinding grain into flour. The air is filled with the scent of freshly ground wheat and the sound of spinning wheels as other women spin thread to create textiles. The men of the tribe are shown in the background, tending to their livestock or repairing their tents. Children play nearby, their laughter echoing through the camp. The Berber people, known for their nomadic lifestyle, have traveled to this location in search of water and pasture for their herds. Their tents, made of wool and animal skins, are a testament to their resourcefulness and adaptability to the harsh desert conditions. The photograph captures the sense of community and interdependence within the tribe. The women work together to prepare food and create textiles, while the men provide for the family's needs through animal husbandry. The Berber people's connection to the land and their traditional way of life is palpable, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of North Africa. This image is a poignant reminder of the resilience and adaptability of nomadic communities in the face of challenging environments. The scene is a testament to the enduring spirit of the Berber people and their deep connection to their land and traditions.
