23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In the heart of the African savannah, a lioness (Panthera leo) prepares for the hunt in the Ndutu area, situated between the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Areas in Tanzania. The lioness, a powerful and majestic big cat, takes a moment to stretch and align her muscles, readying herself for the chase. With a muscular body and a tawny coat adorned with the distinctive mane of her male counterpart, she is a formidable hunter and an essential part of the African wildlife ecosystem. The lion, known as the "king of the jungle," is the largest of all African cats and the second largest of the world's big cats, after the tiger. Historically, lions have roamed from West Africa to the Eastern Cape of South Africa, but their numbers have drastically declined due to habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict. Today, lions are primarily found in sub-Saharan Africa, with the largest populations in Tanzania, South Africa, and Kenya. Lionesses typically hunt in prides, which consist of several females, their cubs, and a few males. They primarily target antelopes, zebras, and wildebeests, using their strength, agility, and teamwork to bring down their prey. The lioness in this photograph, with her focused gaze and alert posture, embodies the fierce determination and unwavering focus of these magnificent hunters. This image captures a moment of stillness before the thrill of the hunt, offering a glimpse into the history and the daily life of these iconic African mammals. The lioness's stance, filled with power and grace, serves as a reminder of the beauty and resilience of the natural world.
