31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures the essence of a typical British 1940s family during World War Two. The scene is set in a modest living room, where the grandmother, dressed in a sensible blouse and an elegant burgundy overcoat, sits in a worn armchair, her hands folded in her lap. Her daughter, wearing a simple dress and a scarf around her neck, stands behind her, her expression a mix of concern and determination. The two boys, dressed in short trousers and sweaters, huddle around their grandmother, their faces serious and worried. The absence of the father, the family's breadwinner, who is on active service, is palpable. The empty chair beside the grandmother, where he would normally have sat, is a poignant reminder of his absence. The grandfather, in his military overcoat and hat, stands in the background, his face etched with the lines of age and worry. His service medals glint in the dim light, a testament to his sacrifice and bravery. This historical image captures the spirit of resilience and determination that defined the British people during World War Two. The family's simple yet dignified attire, the worn furniture, and the somber mood of the photograph all contribute to a powerful sense of nostalgia and reverence for a bygone era. The photograph is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by families during times of war and the enduring bond between generations.
