17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
10 Downing Street: A Symbol of British Democracy in the 1990s This evocative photograph captures the entrance to 10 Downing Street as it appeared in the 1990s, before the significant security enhancements that followed the September 11 attacks in 2001. Located in the heart of London, 10 Downing Street is the official residence and workplace of the British Prime Minister, as well as the headquarters of the First Lord of the Treasury. The black door with its iconic brass number 10, framed by tall, white columns, has long been a symbol of power and authority in the United Kingdom. The image of two policemen standing guard at the entrance adds an air of formality and security, reflecting the importance of the building and the high-stakes political business that takes place within its walls. The history of 10 Downing Street dates back to the late 17th century, making it one of the most historic addresses in the world. The building has played a pivotal role in shaping British law and policy, with countless decisions and debates taking place within its walls. The cabinet room, located on the ground floor, is where the Prime Minister and their cabinet members gather to discuss and make decisions on key issues affecting the country. Despite the grandeur and formality of the setting, democracy remains at the heart of 10 Downing Street. The Prime Minister is ultimately accountable to the British people, and the building serves as a reminder of the power of the ballot box and the importance of open and transparent government. This photograph offers a glimpse into the past, providing a fascinating insight into the history and significance of 10 Downing Street during a period of relative peace and stability in British politics. It is a reminder of the enduring importance of democratic institutions and the role they play in shaping the future of nations.
