Bordeaux Menton Narcisse Virgile Diaz De La Peña Recto Studies Verso Woman Holding Wove Paper Black Chalk Leaded Window
17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print from the Liszt Collection, we are transported back in time to witness a moment of intimate reflection. The photograph showcases a woman delicately holding open a jewelry box, her face illuminated by the soft light streaming through a leaded window. The artist's meticulous attention to detail is evident in every stroke of black chalk and graphite on the wove paper. The woman's figure is beautifully composed, exuding elegance and grace as she contemplates the treasures within the box. Her posture suggests both curiosity and reverence for what lies before her. The verso of this artwork reveals even more depth to its story. We learn that it was created between 1820-1876 by Narcisse Virgile Diaz de la Peña, an esteemed French artist born in Bordeaux in 1808. His talent shines through his ability to capture not only physical beauty but also emotional nuances. This piece invites us to ponder upon themes such as femininity, materialism, and self-discovery. It serves as a reminder that sometimes our most precious possessions are not tangible objects but rather moments of introspection and personal growth. As we gaze at this stunning print by Artokoloro, we can't help but be drawn into the world it portrays - one filled with timeless beauty and contemplation.
