Aert Van Der Neer Frozen River Ligated Monogrammed Lower Left Golfers Ice Skaters

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print from the Liszt Collection transports us back to a winter wonderland in the 17th century. Depicting two towns nestled along a frozen river, this exquisite artwork showcases the harmonious coexistence of different recreational activities during colder months. Intriguingly, amidst the icy landscape, we witness golfers and ice skaters engaged in their respective pastimes. The artist's meticulous attention to detail is evident as each figure comes to life on the canvas. Aert van der Neer, a renowned Dutch painter from Amsterdam, skillfully captures the essence of this frozen scene with his masterful brushstrokes. The serene atmosphere created by Van der Neer draws us into this enchanting tableau. As we gaze upon this piece, it becomes apparent that time stands still within its frame. The monogrammed initials "AV" and "DN" elegantly ligated together, serve as an enduring testament to Van der Neer's authorship. Measuring 40.1 x 53.9 cm and executed on oak using oil paints, this artwork exudes both grandeur and intimacy simultaneously. Its historical significance lies not only in its portrayal of leisure activities but also in providing us with a glimpse into daily life during the Baroque period. As we admire this remarkable print from the Liszt Collection, let our imagination wander through time while appreciating how art can capture fleeting moments forever etched onto canvas for generations to come.
