FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print titled "Saint Gregory the Great and Saint Jerome pray for the souls in purgatory" we are transported to a scene of divine intervention. The artist, Francesco Fontebasso, skillfully captures the essence of spiritual devotion and redemption. At the center of the composition, we see Saint Gregory the Great, known for his compassion and wisdom as Pope. He is depicted alongside Saint Jerome, a monk and hermit renowned for his scholarly pursuits. Together, they fervently beseech God's mercy on behalf of souls trapped in purgatory. Angels descend from heaven to carry these suffering souls towards salvation. Their ethereal presence symbolizes hope and deliverance. Above them, Mary and the Christ child grace a cloud with their celestial radiance, offering comfort and solace to those seeking liberation. The intricate details within this artwork reveal various attributes associated with both saints: St. Gregory's possible deafness is represented by an angel whispering into his ear while Emperor Trajan stands nearby; St. Jerome holds a book signifying his scholarly endeavors along with other symbols such as a cardinal's hat, crucifix, hour-glass, lion (representing courage), skull (symbolizing mortality), stone (alluding to penitence), and liberation from purgatory. Fontebasso's masterful etching technique brings depth and texture to this poignant portrayal of faith transcending earthly boundaries. Through this image alone one can feel the power of prayer reaching beyond life itself - an everlasting testament to humanity's quest for spiritual enlightenment.
