17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print titled "Raree t Fraay Curieus De rarekiek artist interior" takes us back to a bygone era, offering a glimpse into the enchanting world of entertainment and curiosity. In this scene, an itinerant Savooi nature performer presents his mesmerizing viewing cabinet to a family with children. The rarekic showcases various scenes, possibly inspired by popular novels or tales of knights. The room itself is filled with an assortment of household items that evoke a sense of domesticity and simplicity. A spinning wheel stands alongside baskets brimming with fresh fruits, while toy mills and a basket add touches of whimsy. Slippers and a bucket holding a broom hint at daily chores awaiting completion. Against the right wall, rows of barrels serve as makeshift tables for someone's delectable fish dish. Meanwhile, on the opposite side hangs a painting, adding an artistic touch to the space. A rack adorned with jugs graces the back wall. From above dangles a bird cage housing its melodious inhabitant. The room comes alive further with minstrels, jugglers, fahrende Leute (traveling people), and vagrants depicted in paintings or perhaps even present within this vibrant setting. Willem van Mieris masterfully captures this moment in 1718 using oil paint on panel measuring 58 cm in height and 49 cm in width. This extraordinary artwork invites us to contemplate the intersection between childhood wonderment, artistry, nature's beauty captured within cages like birds swimming among fishes—an immersive experience frozen in time.
