17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back in time to the bustling streets of Queen Street, Ramsgate, between 1945 and 1965. The image showcases a charming street view from the east, near the junction with York Street, looking west towards 51 Queen Street. Standing tall in the background is the magnificent building that once housed a wine merchant's business. Known for its Victorian-Tudor style architecture, this remarkable structure was constructed around 1898 under the guidance of W. J. Jennings from Canterbury. Its front facade boasts an impressive central entrance adorned by sturdy granite columns on either side. However, what truly catches one's attention is the short circular tower gracefully perched on the south-east corner of this historic edifice. A distinctive feature that helps identify this architectural gem within the photograph is a round clock face elegantly supported by a large bracket. This unique detail adds character and charm to an already enchanting scene. As we gaze upon this snapshot frozen in time, we can't help but appreciate how it encapsulates not only architectural beauty but also whispers stories of days gone by. It serves as a reminder of Ramsgate's rich history and its vibrant past as a hub for merchants and traders. Through John Pennycuick's lens, we are transported to an era where cobbled streets were filled with life and every building had its own tale to tell - including this remarkable former wine merchant's premises at 51 Queen Street.
