17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning photograph, taken by Bedford Lemere in 1887, captures the grandeur and elegance of the National Liberal Club's interior, specifically the intricately designed staircase on the first landing. The club, located in Whitehall Place, Westminster, Greater London, was a hub of political activity during the Victorian era. Designed by the renowned architect Alfred Waterhouse, the building was a symbol of the Liberal Party's power and influence. The staircase, with its ornate columns and intricate detailing, is a testament to Waterhouse's masterful design skills. The columns, with their distinctive Victorian style, rise up from the marble-clad landing, leading the eye upwards towards the next level. The intricate patterns and motifs etched into the columns add an extra layer of visual interest, making this a truly captivating sight. The natural light filtering in through the tall windows at the top of the stairwell illuminates the scene, casting beautiful shadows and highlighting the intricacies of the design. The muted colors of the marble and the rich tones of the woodwork create a harmonious balance, making for a visually appealing and calming space. This photograph is a snapshot of a bygone era, a time when grandeur and elegance were at the forefront of architectural design. It serves as a reminder of the beauty and craftsmanship that went into creating some of London's most iconic buildings, and the important role that institutions like the National Liberal Club played in shaping the city's political and social landscape during the Victorian era.
