17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "A Journey Through Time: The Crystal Palace Dinosaurs of Sydenham, London" 2.. This evocative photograph, taken by Paul Barkshire on the 18th of May 1983, captures the timeless allure of the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs in Sydenham, London. The image showcases a collection of prehistoric animal sculptures that have stood the test of time, nestled within the lush greenery of Crystal Palace Park. The dinosaur sculptures, constructed by Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins in the 1850s, are Grade I listed structures - a testament to their historical significance and architectural merit. Hawkins, an English sculptor, was one of the pioneers in the field of prehistoric animal reconstruction, and his groundbreaking work at Crystal Palace Park remains a remarkable achievement to this day. The sculptures, which include a diverse range of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, were originally displayed in the Crystal Palace, a grand Victorian glass structure that once housed the Great Exhibition of 1851. When the palace was destroyed by fire in 1936, the dinosaurs were moved to their current location in the park. The photograph by Paul Barkshire offers a glimpse into the past, transporting us back to a time when our understanding of dinosaurs was still in its infancy. The sculptures, though not an accurate representation of these ancient creatures, ignited the public's imagination and fueled a fascination with the prehistoric world that continues to this day. The Crystal Palace Dinosaurs serve as a reminder of the rich history of scientific discovery and the enduring power of art to capture our collective imagination. This photograph, with its intriguing composition and atmospheric quality, invites us to explore the wonders of the prehistoric past and the beauty of Crystal Palace Park.
