17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph, taken by Henry Taunt in 1901, captures a moment in time at the historic New College kitchens in Oxford, Oxfordshire. The image transports us back over a century ago, to an era when meals were prepared with care and dedication. The scene is set in the heart of the college, where the cooks are hard at work, their faces focused and determined as they prepare joints of meat. The men, dressed in their white aprons, deftly handle the raw ingredients, their hands moving with practiced ease. The air is filled with the aroma of roasting meat and the sound of pots and pans clattering against the stove. A spit of chickens, ready to be roasted, leans against the wall, its golden brown skin glistening in the light. The cooks work in unison, their movements synchronized as they prepare the meal for the college's residents. The kitchen, with its large fireplace and copper pots and pans, is a hive of activity, a testament to the importance of food and nourishment in the daily life of the college. Henry Taunt's photograph provides a rare glimpse into the past, offering us a window into the world of the college kitchens in the early 20th century. It is a reminder of the simple pleasures of life, the joy of a well-cooked meal, and the enduring tradition of food preparation that continues to this day in the historic halls of New College, Oxford.
